In this time of unprecedented change, many of us are in isolation, reflecting on what we value, how we spend our time, and who we are. We are facing abandonment wounds, attachment issues, relationship conflict, touch starvation, grief, and much more. Essential workers, many of whom are womxn of color, are drawing upon a deep strength while they daily face their own mortality. We are all going inside in some way--experiencing a transformation. It calls to mind: a cocoon, a molting and shedding of a skin, a smouldering rebirth from the ashes. This is the beginning of the new world. And while the old world is crumbling out here -- what’s going on in there? What’s going on inside?

INSIDE is FUCC’s first online exhibition in collaboration with Studio IX, exploring inner perceptions of the self during quarantine. The exhibition goes live on July 3, 2020, but we’ve provided a teaser below of artists’ works. We’ll be featuring each of the individual artists on our social media (@heyfucc) throughout the month of July; if you’re interested in purchasing works or learning more about specific artists, please reach out to the individual artist.

An opening reception (online happy hour) for INSIDE will be held online on July 23, 2020 from 5-6:30pm via Zoom. Details for the online reception are here.
