“For this sixth issue of MALA LECHE, we welcomed in art and writing that served a similar purpose for others who have survived traumatic experiences. This issue encompasses works which explore moments of betrayal, loss, abuse, survival, and healing. For many of us, art and the power of creation are what allow us to traverse through the swampy underworld of trauma — the path of the shadows. Our art is the light that guides us through these shadowed periods of our lives.”

~ Dana Espinosa, Guest Editor of MALA LECHE #6
